Alone Again

Well, Keith has left on business yet again and we are anxiously awaiting his return. This time he is in Chicago for 2 days. Although it's difficult when he is gone I am glad that he will be back late tomorrow night and he's only 5 hours away rather than farther. I absolutely hate it when he travels but it is a part of the job and I am at least glad he has a job! I talked to one of his co-workers wives at a party they had and she said that her husband had traveled most of his career and that it was the hardest when the kids were young but got easier the older they got then got hard again when the kids left the house and it was just her!
This past week was an eventful one. We spent a lot of it at mom's and the kids had a blast but mom and babe didn't sleep that well. After a delayed flight Keith didn't get home on Wed until long after all of us were in bed and had to be back at work the next morning. I had an auction Thurs night and Fri he worked again. Therefore I didn't see much of him until Fri night. I missed him a ton and that's probably why it's so hard to see him go so soon again. The auction was fun. They had a nice but old upright piano and dad asked me to bid on it for him (he's thinking of being a piano tuner and wanted something to practice on plus he wants to start teaching Gideon) anyway...he told me not to bid more than $50. Well....needless to say I was the only bidder on the thing and I got it for $5.00 total. So....dad has a new piano, that he is trying to convince us to store for him!
On Friday night we ended up at Walmart ( a usual Fri night stop for us) where we purchased Gideon a new bike. He had riden on his cousin Andrew's in MI and did really well on it....well we ended up getting, I think , the exact same bike and he rode it all over Walmart. He wanted to ride it out to the car from the check-out but daddy said no. So far he's is doing great and not afraid which is awesome! We are excited to take it with us up to the U.P. for vacation. We'll have to label it as Gideon's so there's no mix up on bikes :)
Saturday I took Lucy shopping for an early Mother's Day thing. It was really fun. We went into the changing rooms and tried on dresses. She just smiled and danced in front of the mirrors. It was really fun. Yesterday we celebrated Jim and Nancy's (Myers) 40th anniversary with them. We surprised them by having Jay and Les come over from Cleveland for dinner! It was a great time and Gideon and Lucy were sad to see everyone go.
Today things are calmer...although not really very calm...the kids have been fighting all afternoon and driving me crazy....hopefully they'll calm down soon and behave themselves. We did have fun this morning baking some Irish Brown Bread (Drew I'll have to make it for you when you come home) It was really fun. You mix it all by hand so the kids had a blast getting gooey and sticky. I wasn't sure it would taste very good when we were done but it was delicious!!! Some times the most sloppy things taste the best!!! Well we have a busy week ahead of us so I best get going! Hope all are doing well!!

My kids!! What can I say?

Well we had a really fun weekend with the kids. The weather was beautiful and we spent much of the time outside enjoying the fresh air and freedom! On Sat morning mom came over and got Gideon to do some Nani/Gid time for a few hours so Lucy and I had fun being girly! We painted her fingernails and toenails and then put on makeup, did hair and put on a pretty dress. She then pretended she was Aurora (sleeping beauty) and Snow White. In the clip she is singing "A dream is a wish your heart makes"...mixed with I know you I walked with you once upon a dream ending with I'm Wishing from Snow White. She is such a girly girl and I absolutely love it! She has to pretend that she is Aurora every time she wears pink and I have to be Cindarella everytime I wear blue. She'll say "Hi Rella I Rora" It's so cute! The whole time she was dressed up she needed someone besides me to see her and say she was pretty and Ella was the only other one there so she would go up to Ella and say "Look Ella, I Pity" What a blessing she is to this girly sister deprived mom !!
Gideon was pretty hilarious himself this week. On his trek out with mom he said when he grew up he wanted to be a Fox (like Todd in The Fox and The Hound) he said he wanted everything but those things on his head (ears). Mom asked him how he was going to get the Bushy Tail? He said....and I quote "probly I'll need a fairy godmother"!! He has seen one too many of Lucy's princess movies!! Later that night as I was getting him ready for bed he said "Mom, I love you even when I'm naughty" I said...."Gideon I love you even when your naughty too" He said "Mom, why do you have to say I'm naughty sometimes" I said " Well because I want you to be a good boy when you get older and so mommy has to help you to know what a good boy is, I want you to be like your daddy....don't you want to be like your daddy when you get big?" His response..." Yeh....but how do I get red hair"!!
Oh well....my kids drive me crazy some moments but at others i just want to squeeze them!
This week I am staying at mom and dad's while Keith is in North Carolina for a couple of days. We will miss him a lot while he's gone but it's nice to have family around to turn too for help! Hope all of you are having a great spring and enjoying the nice weather!! Love to All!

I Feel Pretty

Well, another week down and a busy one at that! Last wednesday was my first day back to work and it was good to see everyone again and connect! Then, on Friday was a food auction which lasted a long time! Keith usually leaves the kids with my mom and dad(the auction house is next door to them) and brings Ella down for feedings every two hours. Well, the last time he came down, when he went to leave, he got the van good and stuck in the mud. For those of you who don't live in the area, it has been an incredibly muddy and wet spring so far. He left me with the van stuck and took the car and went home. After the auction, I had Gordon (my boss) and his brother-in-law try and pull me out....well...they tried to rock it first with no results, then they tried to pull it out with a chain...then they tried to get a tractor to pull it out but couldn't find the keys....finally they got a heavy duty truck and just yanked it out. The men all asked how I was going to punish Keith for leaving me with such a mess. Well.....I had called Keith to update him on the situation and couldn't hear him because Ella was screaming so much for her mommy! I figured he was punished enough! It wasn't really his fault anyway!
On Saturday, we went to Mom and Dad Myers' and the kids and I spent the day with cousins and aunts and uncles while the men went tackle box shopping at Cabela's and Dave Jan's. They had to stock up! Fishing season starts any day now! Then, in the evening Keith and I and Ella went out to Biaggi's in Toledo with Keith's co-workers to say goodbye to Craig who was let go this last week. We would really appreciate prayer right now for Sauders and the people who work there. It is really not going well and they are in the difficult process of cutting jobs right now. Keith is safe, as well as Jim (Keith's dad) right now. However, the pressure of the job is really getting to Keith. I have been blessed with an awesome husband who not only love and cares for his family, but those he works with too. It's hard for him to see people go! Plus, he is in a new position that requires him to be more "in front" of people at meetings and such and he is not really all that comfortable with that! Next Sunday he'll leave for his first big trip away from home to Highpoint NC for the big furniture show. I may go live with mom and dad for a couple days, although I do want to stay at least one night on my own to see if I can manage all three! The last time I talked to Ang she said that she didn't know how we (who one time slept with a rock in bed for fear of being attacked at night) ended up with traveling husbands! So true!! Oh well....at least with time it gets easier! Hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! It is a beautiful 58 degrees out today....the snow is melting and although it's rainy it brings a smile to my face! I can't wait for spring warmth when I can take the kids to the park, play tee-ball with them and ride bikes outside! Love to All! Have a great week!

Guess What the Kids got for Easter!! So, I was working at my auction 2 weeks ago and I found this costume, and blow up E.T. My grandma Rigal had a blow up E.T. that we used to play with all the time at her house when I was little and I couldn't pass it up! I paid much to much for it but it had a lot of sentimental value and the kids loved it! They were running around the house saying...E.T. Phone HOME....and other quotes from the movie. It was a big hit! Our Easter was great! We drove to Cleveland to see Keith's brother's family on Saturday, spent the night and then drove back on Sunday afternoon. We ended up Easter at my Aunt Jenny's for supper. The kids had so much fun with cousins Jacob and Josh and second cousins Ryan and Craig. They were quite worn out when we came home last night! Gideon is still talking about going deer hunting with Ryan the next time! Today we are settling back down to normal life, trying to get the kids adjusted back to quiet time and doing laundry. This week is a big one as I am going to go to work one morning and have an auction on Friday night. I can't say I am really excited about going but it is fufilling my contigency requirements and it will bring in a little income too so I shouldn't complain. Mom is going to watch all three kids and this will be Ella's longest time away from mommy so hopefully she'll take a bottle better than her sister did! As far as the auction, it will be late Friday night until I get home. It's a food auction and those go from about 5:00-10:30 or 11:00 at night. I am thoroughly worn out after them and ready to sit down for awhile! Anyway, I hope everyone had a good Easter Holiday with family and friends! Love to All!

Happy St Patricks Day!! We had alot of fun this morning while Ella slept! Of course the hats were soon destroyed but it was well worth it all! Our lives have been quite busy lately but we've been well which is a huge blessing! We just spent the weekend with Keith's cousin Kelli and her husband and kids which was a lot of fun! It's always great to be with family and the kids had a blast with Andrew and A.J. The first 5 minutes of the trip home Lucy was sitting in her seat saying Bye bye Mawk, Bye Bye Ke yee, Bye Bye Andwoo, ByeBye A J! It was really funny! As you can see, Kelli also helped me to add my slideshow to the top of the page so we're all set and ready to go! Well, Ella just woke up so my blogging time is over!

So- long time no type. I have been messing with the slideshow option to get it to work now for about 2 weeks. I can't seem to get anywhere with it so if Kelli reads this and can tell me where to enter the html code that would be awesome! Otherwise I'll come up this weekend to MI and harass her into helping me figure it out :) Anyway.....life here is hilarious as usual. The other day at quiet time....my older kids don't take naps anymore...I heard the bathroom door open and shut. Naturally, I assumed it was Gideon...seeing as though he always has to go to the bathroom during quiet time. 15 minutes passed and still he had not come out so I decided to check it out. I opened the door....and there was Lucy sitting on her potty next to the big potty with her hand in the toilet (mind you the toilet had not been flushed) playing with what was now shredded toilet paper that happened to be in there. I was totally discusted.....she was covered with toilet water (in nice terms)...still.....it's not as bad as last time when I caught her with her head in the toilet blowing bubbles in her brothers fresh "water". Ahhhhhh the terrible twos.....I hope it ends soon!
